Golden 1 Credit Union Awards Dozens of Scholarships to California College-Bound Students

More than $450,000 in college scholarships granted to nearly 50 recipients
Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) is pleased to announce more than $450,000 in college scholarships have been awarded to nearly 50 exceptional students throughout California. Recipients range from incoming college freshmen to college seniors attending in-state colleges or universities this fall. Each student was selected based on their significant community engagement and a wide range of scholarly achievements.
“Golden 1 is dedicated to supporting California's future leaders in achieving their educational goals and dreams," said Erica Taylor, Senior Vice President of Community Impact and Public Relations Officer for Golden 1 Credit Union. “Our members and the communities we serve are central to our mission, and our annual scholarship program is one of the most important ways we can give back and invest in students throughout the state.”
Golden 1’s scholarship program provides Credit Union members and their dependents financial assistance valued at up to $20,000 per student, for full-time students who plan to attend accredited, nonprofit two-year community colleges or four-year colleges and universities in California. Awardees receive scholarships based on their academic achievements, community involvement, extracurricular activities, education, and career goals.
“We continue to be impressed each year by the quality of applicants we receive to our scholarship program,” added Taylor. “This year’s recipients are outstanding, and we are proud to support these highly motivated and determined students. California’s young leaders show great promise, and we wish them all the best in their future academic pursuits.”
