Newsweek’s survey encompassed responses from over 142,000 women representing more than 848,000 companies nationwide. Golden 1's recognition as one of America's Greatest Workplaces for Women 2024 reflects its proactive efforts in promoting gender equality and empowering women within its workforce.

Under the visionary leadership of President and CEO Donna Bland, Golden 1 has flourished, serving over 1.1 million members and implementing impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives that benefit diverse communities throughout California. Golden 1's commitment to empowering women is further exemplified by its strong female representation in senior leadership positions and its majority female board of directors. By the end of 2023, women comprised 65% of Golden 1’s workforce. This notable figure demonstrates the Credit Union's commitment to cultivating gender parity within its organization. At the middle management level, 64% were female, closely aligning with Golden 1's individual contributor level and showcasing that management diversity is representative of the overall gender demographic. Additionally, at the vice president and above level, Golden 1 added four women compared to five men in 2023, further highlighting its dedication to addressing gender parity at the senior leadership level.
